About Me

photo - Version 5

I’ve been writing articles, stories, advertising and marketing for 30+ years.  I’m still at it.  Several years ago I pulled up stakes and moved across country in search of lower humidity and longer trails. I moved again and for now, am sitting still in the land of great barbecue. RockTheWrinkle.com has grown from my desire to urge other baby boomers to achieve the rewarding lifestyle they’ve earned.  All opinions expressed here are just that—my opinions and experiences, thoughts and wisdom of those I interview, snippets from published articles and books, and other assorted musings.

My key words:   chocolate, gruyere, Marx Brothers, Placido Domingo, mountain streams and tai chi. A hopeless believer in the power of the universe and the restorative power of homemade macaroni and cheese.

Amen to this! For me, 50+ means no more hair dye, wearing fashions I like, and finding a spiritual center that isn’t necessarily what I grew up with! Looking forward to these posts and the community that forms here!

Thanks for the thoughtful & creative blogging, Laura. My wife and I “started over” two years ago (at 61) – we started an upscale thrifty store here to support local charities here in Memphis. I also recorded a CD recently that I’ve been wanting to do for years – sending you a copy.

    Hi Laura,
Stumbled across one of your blog posts a few minutes ago, and I’m glad to see you’re still kickin’ it! Glad our life-paths crossed at Chandler Simmons all those years ago. I always admired how you could come up with just the right copy at the drop of a hat (how does she DO that?!?) All the best for a long time yet—stay at it!
